Share the awesomeness with a friend. Make sure when your friend comes to try class, they let us know who referred them. If they sign up for class, we’ll give you a $15 credit toward your tuition.
Friends don’t let friends miss out on dance class!
Check out the fall schedule and see if there’s a new class you might want to try out or if the new school schedule is forcing you to switch from your most favoritist teacher and find out how awesome all of our teachers are.
JUST SAYIN‘
(Thoughts about dance, family, parenting or whatever else is on our mind.)
Let’s talk about Halloween candy. First let’s all just accept that the wheels are off on the sugar train from now until January 1st.
Don’t fight it – just surrender.
I have yet to buy my candy to hand out to trick or treaters because every time I’m at the store I’m outraged at the price of a bag. Listen, I realize that I have just dropped $5 on a cup of coffee but for some reason I get incensed at the cost of Halloween candy. (FYI – I feel the same way about kids water bottles, travel coffee cups and razors). This especially bugs me if I leave the bucket on the porch for 30 minutes so that I can try and enjoy a little family trick or treating time and come back to find that some hooligan has taken it all – at these prices it’s pretty much grand larceny. So what’s the answer? Do I get the cheapo crummy candy and look like the neighborhood scrooge or get the name brand and just sit in my fury? The struggle is real every year for me. Of course, I always get the good stuff so I don’t shame my teenage daughter’s. (Although I won’t go for the full size bars that is just WAY too far.) In case you are curious, Forbes Magazine says that this is the list of the least favorite candies for Halloweeners: 1 Circus Peanuts (yes that is a thing and it’s chewy) 2 Candy Corn (you love em or you hate em) 3 Wax Coke Bottles (what year is this) 4 Necco Wafers 5 Peanut Butter Kisses 6 Tootsie Rolls (debatable) 7 Smarties 8 Licorice 9 Good and Plenty’s 10 Mary Jane’s (what even are these?) To balance out your information, here is the list of the favorite’s : 1 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (obvi) 2 Snickers (bite size are really the best) 3 Twix 4 Kit Kat 5 M and M’s 6 Nerds 7 Butterfinger 8 Sour Patch Kids (watermelon sooo much better) 9 Skittles 10 Hershey Bars (ugggh the melting). So get out there parents and get that second mortgage to purchase your Halloween candy or get the gross kind and watch the kids try to unload it in the post trick or treating trading frenzy!

DANCE TERM OF THE WEEK
Come to the desk, tell us the term and show us the move (as best as you can) and you’ll get a treat!
Glissade [glee-SAD]
Means “Glide”. It is an in-between step. A traveling step executed by gliding the working foot from the fifth position to the side, then the other foot closes to it in fifth position. You would start by jumping up first and then moving to the side after.
COMMUNITY BOARD (Cause there’s a lot of cool stuff happening around town.) We are incredibly proud to be a part of the amazing Studio City community. There’s so much to do and who knows that better than you. SANTA CLARITA BALLET NUTCRACKER- It’s already that time of year. This wonderful Ballet company puts on a beautiful and very family friendly version of this holiday classic. ‘Memories of the Past’ One of our incredible young dancers is also an author.
